"Mosaic is a great opportunity to hang out with my students in a relaxed, artistic atmosphere. I have enjoyed working as artists together."

Middle School Students and The Mosaic Project

In August 2012, teachers from School District of Lancaster and Pequea Valley School District middle school art departments awarded four full scholarships to students to a take a Mosaic Project-themed art class in the continuing education department at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design.

Middle School students participated in the Mosaic Project also had the opprotunity to meet artists R. Gregory Chirstie and Lorenzo Hutrado Segovia and talk to them about how they create their artwork, what the paintings and illustrations mean, and hear real-life stories about life as a professional artist.

In class each Saturday morning, the students created paintings, drawings and mixed media works, based in part on the the artwork from the Mosaic Project exhibition.
