“The most interesting part of the Mosaic Project visiting artists was when they told their life story and how they made their dreams come true, it was very inspiring.”

Middle School Students and The Mosaic Project

In August 2013, teachers from School District of Lancaster and Pequea Valley School District middle school art departments will award a total of twenty full scholarships to students to a take a Mosaic Project-themed art class in the Continuing Education department at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design.

In class each Saturday morning, the students create paintings, drawings and mixed media works, based in part on the the artwork from the Mosaic Project exhibition. The projects made and relationships built in this special class are celebrated with family and friends in a special reception on the final day of class.

“My favorite part of the Mosaic Class was getting to create something our own way. The designs and the way each project looked, we got to design ourselves. It was pretty fun and neat to also see other people’s projects. But it feels like I can do anything here, I don’t want to leave.”
