MOSAIC DAYS Spring 2010

All 2009 Mosaic Project students and their families as well as SDoL and Pequea Valley educators were invited to participate in any or all of the following Mosaic Days. These free classes were held at PCA&D on the SECOND SATURDAY of each month, February through May 2010, from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

Each class had a theme or focus that was led by an art instructor, but there were PCA&D students present as well to assist with personal projects, school assignments, or even portfolios for college admission.

Our first class, held on February 13, was a great success. Under the instruction of Edgar Rodriguez, the students created various lettering projects including storefront signs and original fonts. The same energetic students returned on March 13 for Cartooning and Sequential Art with Edgar. For the April 10th class, Natasha Miller led a variety of projects including clay, portraiture, and acrylics. It was terrific to see so many new faces to Mosaic Days. And even more new faces arrived at the May 8 class about Book Alterations. Amazing how a little tissue paper, glitter, collage elements, metal, paint, and modge podge can totally transform an old hardcover when in the hands of creative geniuses! Thank you to all those who attended and to the talented instructors!
