For approximately 1400 people, the "Senior Show" was a must-see during ArtWalk weekend.
It all began on First Friday, May 6 and continued on Saturday and Sunday, May 7 and 8. PCA&D opened its first through fourth floors during First Friday so the public could view the entire body of work created by its Class of 2011. Work includes illustration, graphic design, wearable art, motion graphics, fine arts, photography, and more.
Although the upper floors were closed after First Friday drew to its brilliant close, the Main Gallery (on Prince Street level) remained opened on Saturday and Sunday during ArtWalk and featured one work by each of the graduating seniors.
PCA&D would like to extend a special thanks and congratulations to the Class of 2011 for one of the strongest exhibits presented in Lancaster this year.
[Here's our story posted on May 2 about the original event, the Senior Show & Celebration, held on April 27]:
The day was all about the Class of 2011 and their senior thesis portfolios.
Hundreds of our seniors' friends, family members and the general public jammed the halls and classrooms of PCA&D to view their portfolios of work -- 60,000 sq. ft. of artwork in all -- during this year's "Senior Show & Celebration," which was held on April 30.
There was photography, illustration, motion graphics, graphic design and fine arts. Live music during the event included Rue de la Pompe, the Tom Witmer Duo, and the Mark Huber Duo.
A few photos from the event are below. For an album of images, visit PCA&D at Facebook.com/pcad.edu.
This year, WITF was the media sponsor for the Senior Show & Celebration. We are pleased to have worked with a leader in public radio and one of the few local producers of original content that focuses on central Pennsylvania issues. Read more about WTIF, Inc. by clicking here.
The postcard, poster, program and banner for this year's Senior Show & Celebration were designed by Paul Sullivan, a graphic design major.
