PCA&D is pleased to announce visits by guest artists who will lead us, through images and the spoken word, into casual yet informative explorations of their creative processes.
Each talk is free and open to the public. Watch these pages and PCA&D's Facebook wall for updates as we add more guest artists to our schedule.
Award-winning illustrator R. Gregory Christie (shown above) will be at PCA&D today, November 2, to celebrate the Mosaic Project. His artist talk and book signing, both free, highlight November First Friday in Lancaster.
See the interview with Christie in today's Lancaster (Pa.) newspaper. Thanks go to Laura Knowles and her editors for their interest in Christie's events today.
R. Gregory Christie, three time Coretta Scott King Honor Award winner for his children’s book illustrations, will present an exploration of his work and artistic process during an artist talk at
4 p.m. in the atrium.
After the talk, Christie will have a book signing beginning at 5 p.m. It's a wonderful way to introduce your family to the world of art and in this case, illustration.
After the book signing, Christie will be present for the second public reception for PCA&D's Mosaic Project, of which he is one of two featured artists.
The Mosaic Project exhibit features distinctive illustrations by Christie and complex woven paper paintings by Lorenzo Hurtado Segovia. Both artists explore themes of individual discovery and of ethnic and cultural diversity. The gallery will be open until 9 p.m. on November 2.
