"Reflections from the Artist's Studio" is a panel discussion that features members of Zeuxis, an association of still life painters, on Thursday, March 14. Panelists Robert Jessel, Sydney Licht, Margaret McCann, and Janice Nowinski are members of Zeuxis, and guest artist George Nick will join them. Gallery director Heidi Leitzke will moderate the discussion.
Artists will share anecdotes about their individual studio practices and how still life is a source of inspiration. The painting featured above is "Still Life With Reflections" by Sydney Licht.
The discussion begins at 4 p.m.; it is free and open to the public and a reception with the artists will be held at 5 p.m.
See the article in the March 8 edition of the Lancaster New Era/Intelligencer Journal about Zeuxis.

George Nick has been invited by Zeuxis to join them in the panel discussiona and exhibit.
Zeuxis is a grassroots organization of painters formed in 1995 to explore the contemporary possibilities of still life. For their exhibition at PCA&D, Zeuxis artists and their invited guest artists have produced still lives that incorporate a reflective object. The nature of reflection – its surface and the image reflected – is interpreted by each artist.
Zeuxis artists featured in "Reflections" -- currently in our gallery -- include Rita Baragona, William Barnes, Temma Bell, Susan Cohen, Phyllis Floyd, Stanley Friedman, John Goodrich, Christine Hartman, Robert Jessel, Tim Kennedy, Deborah Kirklin, Carmela Kolman, Richard La Presti, Ginger Levant, Ying Li, Sydney Licht, Anthony Martino, Margaret McCann, Ruth Miller, Janice Nowinski, Stephanie Sanchez, Sandra Stone, Gwen Strahle, Amy Weiskopf, Megan Williamson.
Artists invited by Zeuxis to include work in the "Reflections" exhibit are Lois Dodd, Nancy Grimes, Nancy Hagin, Albert Kresch, Marion Lerner-Levine, George Nick, Susannah Phillips, and Susan Jane Walp.
The Zeuxis "Reflections" exhibit and panel discussion are made possible through a generous grant from The Richard C. von Hess Foundation.
