Brandt made the announcement at a dinner given by the Board of Trustees on June 1st to honor President Heil.  President Mary Colleen HeilBrandt said, “Probably the single most important gift Mary Colleen has given the college is her student-centered approach to a college education. Every decision is factored with a question of the benefit to the student. She expects that every professor and administrator will consider the benefit to the student ahead of any other consideration.

At the dinner, Lancaster Mayor Danene Sorace proclaimed  June 1, 2018, as Mary Colleen Heil Day in recognition of her achievements on behalf of the students of PCA&D and the City of Lancaster. In addition to the proclamation by Mayor Sorace, Heil was presented with declarations of thanks for her service to the community and state by Pennsylvania Governor Thomas Wolf, The Commissioners of Lancaster County and the former mayor of Lancaster Richard Gray.
