Snow by Katrina Funk

PCA&D adjunct faculty member and alumni, class of 2010, Katrina Funk’s Dreaming in Color exhibition will be shown at the Lancaster County Art Association‘s Kauffman Gallery this fall.

Katrina’s current work evolves from the reminiscent memory of vague catalogs of past dreams and experiences. The abstract works evoke texture, color and create an atmosphere where reoccurring orbs become the energy and figuration of the dreamscape. With inspirations from the abstract expressionists, as well as interests in symbolism and spirituality, this series of works is meant to focus on conveying a personal experience with memory, dreams, and self identity.

Katrina, an abstract artist and professor located in Lancaster, PA, teaches Art History at Pennsylvania College of Art and Design. Katrina is a 2013 MFA graduate of Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and 2010 BFA graduate of Pennsylvania College of Art and Design.

The opening reception of Dreaming in Color is September 20th, 2015 at Lancaster County Art Association, 149 Precision Ave, Strasburg from 1-4 pm. The show runs through October 15.
