Linda King Brown appointed chair of the Liberal Arts Department

Linda BrownLinda King Brown has been appointed Chair of the Liberal Arts Department at PA College of Art & Design. A faculty member since 2005, Brown teaches communications and humanities courses and has been instrumental in the development of the college’s writing program. She will continue to focus on writing as a component of the college’s Communication as Currency initiative, which emphasizes connective learning across the curriculum. She is a published writer and holds a MSJ from The Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and a BA in English with a minor in Art History from Hobart & William Smith Colleges. Prior to teaching full time, Brown was a freelance writer and columnist for the Lancaster Newspapers and was a staff reporter and writer for The Inquirer and Mirror in Nantucket, MA. She also chaired the poetry selection committee for the college’s Poetry Paths site in 2011.

Brown replaces the previous Chair of Liberal Arts, Jessica Sponsler who will remain as Assistant Professor at the college.
