UStudio Events for Spring Semester 2017:

  • What Would You Do If? Bystander Skills and Intervention: Wednesday, February 8th at 1 PM, Room 213

Our friends and family are our world, and sometimes in order to cope with the world around them or to survive something which has happened to them, they turn to substances or behaviors that make them feel numb, that allow them to forget for a while what is hurting them. Also, we may see our friends and family entering into potentially dangerous situations, which could negatively impact their lives moving forward. So, what do you do? This workshop hosted by Kaity Nordorff (BA) from the Lancaster YWCA.  Lunch will be provided.

  • The Art of Healthy Relationships: Thursday, March 16th at 1 PM, room 213

Communication, boundaries, media, love, lust, conflict and respect – what do all of these words have in common? They are all the words that can connect to relationships….but how they are defined and used can depend on how healthy that relationship is. Come and talk with Kaity Nordorff (BA) from the Lancaster YWCA as we talk about fostering healthy relationships. Lunch will be provided by Jimmy John’s.

  • Thoughts from a Design Activist: Monday, March 20th from 12-1:30 PM, Atrium

PCA&D alumnus, Adam DelMarcelle, is a design activist who works to use design thinking to solve larger societal issues. His current work “What Heroin Sounds Like,” has garnered national attention, allowing Adam to travel widely to spread awareness of the heroin and opioid crisis impacting our communities. Join Adam as he discusses his artistic journey and how he has cut through the visual noise to create social change through his print and design work.
