The Gallery at PCA&D will be open Friday, Aug. 27, for members of the public who wish to meet “Art Heals” artist Jennifer Quigley on its final day on exhibition.

The event will be held from 6-7 pm in the gallery, just inside the main entrance at 204 N. Prince St.

Quigley’s large-scale public art installation, “Art Heals” has been on display in the College’s Art Garden since June. The Gallery show highlights Quigley’s process, from concept and drafting through final stages.

Quigley, MA, LPC, REAT, is a registered expressive arts therapist and the College’s first Healing Arts Artist in Residence. PCA&D’s Healing Arts pilot project explores the intersections between visual art and medicine, and develops pathways for its students in those careers. The Lancaster resident, who’s also a practicing artist, produces work that’s often tied to music. She has been profiled by Rolling Stone magazine, and she has been featured in both solo exhibitions and in collaborations with other artists, such as country music legend Marty Stuart.

“Art processes my pain,” Quigley says in her artist statement for this exhibition. “It’s my therapist. My physician. My clergy. My friend’s ear at 4 am. It’s mom putting a Band-Aid on my knee after falling off my bike. Through this exhibit I extend that comfort to you.”
