Artist Talk: Artist Zhi Lin

Zhi Lin, a Chinese American mixed media artist and member of the faculty in the School of Art + Art History + Design at the University of Washington, will present a talk Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 10 am in the Atrium. The event is free and open to the public.

Lin uses his art to raise awareness of social and cultural history, and much of his recent work traces the contributions and often-erased history of Chinese workers in the American West. Through watercolor and combinations of painting and video, he explores the history of Chinese immigration and the building of the railroads and, through that lens, examines current-day issues such as immigration, social justice, violence, and intolerance.
