: Chris Ruch

As I was discovering a passion for art/design/illustration/film, I enrolled in Bethlehem Vo-Tech’s Commercial Art program, followed by 3 years of Graphic Design study at PCAD. In the years following, I’ve worked for a variety of advertising/marketing agencies, printers, publishers and have supported my own clients (primarily entertainment, education, nonprofit) with an ever growing skill set (print/web/video/photography/illustration/mixed media). I am currently a part-time instructor at Lancaster Catholic High School (teaching Media Arts, and supporting their Broadcasting program), and I am the videographer for Revelo Magazine.

OTHER CURRENT PROFESSIONAL WORK: (Website Admin / Videographer) (Media Arts Instructor) (Multimedia Designer)

I strive to help students learn to problem solve, research, experiment (without fear) and be self-motivated. Grading prioritizes interaction/communication/asking questions, focused effort and a good attitude. Willingness to try new challenges is a high priority. The industry, tools, techniques and trends are always in flux …. so as future professionals, students are encouraged to develop a mindset of constant discovery & experimentation. I encourage students to be socially/environmentally conscious and to use their skills & interests to benefit others positively.
