Animation & Game Art
Jonah Primiano is a Los Angeles-based filmmaker. His recent work utilizes the rotoscope technique to both deconstruct and form new relationships between disparate moving images, with a focus on examining the relationship between culture, image, and meaning.
His films have been screened in the US and abroad at the Slamdance Film Festival, London International Animation Festival, Animateka Animation Festival, Tacoma Film Festival, and others. He is the editor and publisher of the animation magazine Mostly Moving.
This past fall he developed and taught a course called Traces of the Image as a Post-Graduate Teaching Fellow for CalArts.
He holds a BFA in Animation from the Savannah College of Art and Design and earned his MFA in Experimental Animation from CalArts in 2021.
