Kevin Martorana is a nationally recognized director of photography and director of broadcast, corporate and commercial programs.

A 1983 graduate of Kutztown State College, Kevin launched his career at NBC affiliate WGAL-TV8 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He was promoted rapidly from college intern to producer/videographer/editor for the show “PM Magazine”.

In the following three decades, Kevin has been working at the helm of his own global production company Take One Productions, Inc. Seeing a need in the corporate world for video, Kevin started his company with a VHS camera and recorder and $500 investment. Take One Productions has three Avid HD editing suites, a dedicated graphics suite, a small insert studio, and state-of-the-art location camera packages. Take One maintains a staff of freelance videographers, editors, artists and gaffers, and makeup stylists.

Kevin has been acknowledged as one of the “Top 100 Producers” by Film and Video Magazine and has won numerous Addy Awards, National Telly Awards, and local awards for his commercials and documentaries. He has won one NATAS Emmy award for his work and has been nominated for 6 other productions. He has also received the prestigious Rothermal Award from his alma mater Kutztown University.

Kevin has directed many celebrities including actors Charleton Heston, Richard Harris, John Stamos, Jim Varney, Heather Locklear, famous female golfer Jan Stephenson, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, and astronaut Neal Armstrong.

Kevin has been utilizing the newest HD technology for digital cinematography. “HD VideoPro“, a national magazine, featured a 5-page article in August 2007, about Kevin’s use of HD in the corporate world.

In 2009, Kevin’s documentary “A Pioneer in Television History: 60 Years of WGAL-TV” was nominated for a Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award and won Best Documentary by the Central Pennsylvania Broadcasters Association.

Avid Editing Systems did an interview with him for their website in 2018, discussing workflow from shooting 4k on-location to editing.

Kevin has worked throughout the entire US, Europe, and Russia producing documentaries, videos, and commercials. He has produced work for ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, HBO, Discovery Channel, VH1, and hundreds of corporations.

Although his business takes his production services worldwide, the Take One Productions office is based in Lancaster, PA.
