In PCA&D’s Core Gallery: ‘Coming to Terms’

SCROLL FOR A VIRTUAL TOUR OF “COMING TO TERMS.” THE EXHIBITION IS CLOSED TO IN-PERSON VISITS DUE TO PRECAUTIONARY COVID-19 MEASURES:

Core Gallery, the new Student-run Gallery at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design was launched during March First Friday as a text-based participatory exhibition featuring the senior class. Coming to Terms is curated by Fine Art major Nikkole Weisman ’20 (formally Hagginbothom). All of the senior students were invited to write their fond memories of their time at PCA&D on a large and ongoing paper-chain installation.

Since the building is now close due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Weisman has invited the seniors to continue their participation via the newly launched Instagram: pcad_core_gallery. In the early stages of the online project, follow the student-managed Instagram page to see how the project evolves.

You can also see photos of the physical Coming to Terms exhibit above.

On the occasion of the March opening of Coming to Terms, Weisman said:

“As students, we were given so many opportunities to grow and reach for goals that we never could possibly have imagined as children when we were scribbling with crayons. We have succeeded. We surpassed our dreams and accomplished so much as we enter the final stages of our PCA&D experience. We are looking forward to experiencing the collective creation of gratitude and reflection that unfolds before us as the chains connect and grow. For now, let us celebrate … all that we have accomplished as we bid PCA&D farewell as students, and enter the ranks of professional artists as graduates.”
