John Bisbee

“Only nails, always different”

Artist Talk: John Bisbee
Friday November 6 at 4 pm in the Atrium at PCA&D

Sculpting with nails for the past thirty years, John Bisbee‘s mantra is “only nails, always different.” Bisbee will be installing several works, including a brand new wall sculpture, throughout the Main Gallery at PCA&D, with an opening reception on First Friday, November 6, 2015.

Featured work will include “Bolt”, measuring 5 and a half feet high and wide and composed of 12″ spikes, nuts and bolts. This piece is a wonderful example of repetition and symmetry as revealed in Bisbee’s work. Not merely a reflection of natural forms or systems, but the unique juxtaposition of a seemingly light, organic volume rising up from the floor, crafted from weighty bolts that have been re-imagined and transformed.
