Print Invitational in Honor of David Snyder

This exhibition celebrates the life of David K. Snyder as artist and educator. Snyder was a co-founder of PCA&D in 1982, since that time he taught for over 30 years in the Fine Art and Foundation departments.

“Dave Snyder was a powerful influence on the success of the College,” states Mary Colleen Heil, PCA&D President. “He was an excellent teacher and artist and was deeply committed to his work and his students. We will all miss him.”

This exhibit has been curated in two parts. First, a selection of prints and related artwork made by Snyder has been selected from the collections of PCA&D faculty, staff and local collectors.
For the second component of the show we invited a selection of artists who had close relationships with Snyder, either as student or colleague and who work primarily in the media of printmaking. We chose to focus this exhibit on printmaking, because Dave was experimental and innovative in his printmaking practice. Utilizing his expertise and the way he encouraged creative problem solving, Dave impacted the strong learning environment of the print shop at PCA&D.

Included in the exhibition are works of art by David Snyder, Rebecca Blosser, Amy Boone-McCreesh, Jolyn Fry, Dorothy Frey, Eileen Heasley, Zachary Lindenberger and David Moss.
