Botanical Acrylic Painting with Gallery Grow Ages 14 -Adult: Intergenerational Studio

In this class we will use acrylic paint and explore the layering of color to achieve brightness and vibrancy to depict plants you will choose from Gallery Grow! After picking out a reference plant from Gallery Grow, we will spend the first half of our first session sketching out simple shapes and painting a solid color in the background of our 8″x 8″ canvas. We will then take time identifying lighter and darker tones, and filling in from dark to light to achieve vibrance and bright color. If time permits, you can explore the usage of sculptural or collage materials to add depth and texture to your completed piece.
