Business Practices for Creatives will guide students through the process of creating a business plan and a marketing plan. Students will create customer personas so they have a better understanding of who their customers are and what they are looking for and what they really need. We will review permits and licensing, local, state and federal tax rules related to running a business. We will review business types with emphasis on sole proprietorships and LLC business types. Lectures will include descriptions and definitions about branding, marketing and sales; self-promotion using traditional tactics and social media and on-line (website) promotion. We will review web creation and hosting options as well as additional resources for their business to use after the classes have ended.
