February Fun! HeART Explorers: Celebrating Valentines Day with Art: Grades 1-5

Description

Come celebrate Valentines Day and love as a theme in our art. We will use a variety of creative media and styles to explore color and pattern in love themed artwork. After learning about the artist Robert Indiana and his iconic LOVE sculpture, students will create a love based project. Students will use oil pastels and watercolors to create a resist painting. They will also use pencil value shading techniques to create zen tangle compositions. Students will come away from this class with two beautiful artworks displaying highest craftsmanship , color and pattern.
