Description

This class will give you an introduction to basic fashion illustration tools, such as drawing a fashion figure and simple color and texture techniques. You will learn about fashion proportion, typical drawing materials, and paper ideal for displaying fashion designs.

After a brief lecture on composition, perspective, and proportion, we will work on fashion figure proportions and practicing these techniques until you are comfortable with the basic form. We will then move on to practice color shading and textures using sketching/drawing paper as well as vellum and/or tracing paper to develop and trace your fashion figures.

Once our basic fashion figure is developed, you will learn to use color markers and color pencils for shading and texture development. You will complete the class with a minimum of two fashion figures in two different poses, on a medium weight drawing paper. Join us!
