February – Let’s Make Zines: Grades 4-6

In this hands-on, creativity-driven workshop, your child will learn how to design and produce their very own Zine from start to finish. We’ll begin by exploring what a Zine is and brainstorming ideas. Next, your child will learn the fundamentals of a Zine layout, including sequencing pages, balancing text and images, and planning a cohesive visual style. From there, we’ll dive into construction techniques. By the end of the class, your child will walk away with a complete, handcrafted Zine that reflects their unique voice and vision. This is a studio based class with a bit of guidance to start followed by one-on-one instruction. Expect to have some creative freedom within the bounds of the assignment!
