Description
This class for students in grades 7-9 teaches the fundamental drawing skills needed to strengthen and elevate their figurative illustrations. Through observational practice and purposeful technique, students will learn to translate what they see into well-crafted, intentional artwork that supports their personal style and visual storytelling. We will specifically cover core techniques such as line quality, value, shading, proportion, and composition. Students will complete the class with a fully rendered finished drawing utilizing all of the techniques covered during lecture and demonstration. This class will culminate in an exhibition on the final day! This class is primarily studio-focused and will include some demonstration and lecture. The instructor will conduct one-on-one check-ins with students in addition to larger class discussions.
This course must meet minimum enrollment by February 28 in order to run. Register today!
