Description

In this class, we will explore a variety of literary theories about the “rules” of good writing. You will be invited to unpack and critique theories of writing, learn the historical and cultural contexts of these theories, and utilize them to create your own short stories. You will also write your own “rules of writing” as a means of breaking and creating guidelines that fit your writing goals. The purpose of this class is to help you think more critically about accepted standards and theories of writing as well as empowering you to critique and create meaningful written work.
