Description
Make blank books out of material you already have at home. In this workshop, we’ll learn how to perform foundational bookbinding techniques using common household items. You’ll leave with one or two small blank books and the skills to continue making them for yourself and others.
This course must meet minimum enrollment by July 11th in order to run. Register today!
Supply List
- 4 sewing needles
- A thumbtack
- A thin nail
- A butter knife
- A smooth, rounded rock
- A glass jar
- A cardboard box
- A box cutter or utility knife
- A ruler
- 4 binder clips
- Glue – regular white or gluestick
- Sewing thread or embroidery floss or dental floss
- Any kind of paper you’d like to use (printer, notebook, construction, newsprint, sketch, etc.)
- Magazines or books you’re okay cutting up
- A couple tea boxes
- Anything you find that you’d like to repurpose into/onto/within a book (greeting cards, flyers, postcards, catalogues, envelopes, mail, newspaper, stickers, decorative tape, etc.)
