In this workshop, students will explore the physical and psychological connections that create a work of art. We will look at references from everyday life and interpret them through sculptural forms in a series of small assignments. Students will learn different approaches to attaching, joining, and connecting various materials and explore the visual and conceptual impact of those combinations.

Participants will be asked to document connections they encounter in their everyday lives to bring in the first day of the workshop; these can be in the form of an album of videos or images on a phone or computer, drawings, descriptions, etc. These connections can range from the mundane to the unusual.

This class must meet minimum enrollment by July 19th.
