Description

In this introductory mosaic class we will explore mosaics with an emphasis on Japanese culture. In Japan, four seasons are at the heart of its culture. As in Pennsylvania, the change of seasons is celebrated! In Japanese culture, “Goldfish” is a typical summer animal because its presence in water reminds us of the warmth outside and cooling qualities of water. In this class we will create goldfish mosaics to welcome summer! The class consists of slides on mosaics and Japanese culture, and all the hands-on steps you need to know to make mosaics including cutting glass, placing pieces, and grouting, plus some Japanese art activities. The final size of the Mosaic piece will be 8 1/2″ (W) x 7″ (H).

NOTE: Signing up for this class, we ask that you use your tools and handle sharp objects carefully.

This course must meet minimum enrollment by July 3rd in order to run. Register today!
