In this introduction to lighting course, students will get a generalized overview of how controlled lighting can effect their photographs. We will go over using natural light and studio lighting for still lives and portraiture. Students will leave with a greater understanding of how to use light and a small portfolio of images.

This is a credit-bearing course. Attendance and engagement will impact your final grade.

This course must meet minimum enrollment by July 25 in order to run. Register today!

Supply List

  • Access to a cloud account such as Google Drive or Dropbox or a flash drive for file storage.
  • Pen and sketchbook to take notes. .
  • Camera is optional. PCA&D will have digital DSLR cameras available during class time. If you would prefer to bring your own manual capability camera, you may do so.
