This course will introduce the concepts around the idea that UX and UI refer to the visual components, interactions, and experience when using a website. UX refers to the overall experience of the website and how it makes the user feel. UI design includes the components that bring a website to life, such as colors, typography, buttons, sliders and actions. This course will also explore how the methods and attributes that guide UX/UI design decisions for mobile devices. Put simply, it’s about user experience and designing with the user’s needs as top priority.
Having successfully completed the class, students will demonstrate an understanding of:
  • the principles of user-centered design and to apply them to your designs to improve usability
  • the importance of involving users in the design process
  • basic usability and accessibility guidelines that you can apply to your designs
