Week 1 | June | Let’s Make Flags & Pennants: Grades 1-3

Whether it’s for their favorite team or favorite ice cream, students will create their own pennants or wall hangings symbolizing something important to them. In this studio based class students in grades 1-3 will learn to design, cut, and assemble their personalized wall hanging using felt, fabric markers, and other mixed media materials. Students will explore symbolism, iconography and will also learn the history of pennant design and how we can use symbols or simple images to show something we like! This is a studio based class with a bit of guidance to start followed by one-on-one guidance. Expect to have lot’s of creative freedom within the bounds of the assignment!
