Orientation for new students is scheduled for Wednesday, August 19 – Friday, August 21. This adapted Orientation program will allow students in small groups to engage with one another and the greater PCA&D community in order to prepare for the start of classes on Monday, August 24.
Returning students will also be able to return to campus during this timeframe in small groups to connect with their academic departments and develop plans for the coming year.
Seniors will also be assigned senior studio spaces in which they can begin to access following their departmental meetings. Specifics on departmental meetings and senior studio space assignments will be sent to students in early August.
Connect in Google Classroom
Students should use GoogleClassroom, where all communications, engagement opportunities, and dates are listed. Students can also message and connect with one another through this platform.
There is a Google Classroom for Foundation students and another classroom for transfer students. The Classroom page will also include a virtual calendar of communications and events that will be crafted to assist new students and families to navigate their transition to PCA&D.
Closer to the start of classes on August 24, all PCA&D students will be invited to participate in a GoogleClassroom for each course in which they are enrolled. These classrooms will provide students with a roadmap for how the course will work over the term, and supplies that should be brought to the first day of class.
Connect in Discord
The College will also create a new student Discord channel where Orientation Leaders, PCA&D Student Life staff, as well as pertinent community members can engage with students through online dialogues and messages. Please stay tuned to your PCA&D email, and, for new students, your GoogleClassroom, for an invitation to participate.
