38th Commencement and Related Class of 2020 Events
Although the Class of 2020 received their Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in May. PCA&D will celebrate these graduates during the weekend of Oct. 2-4 for Commencement as well as their Senior (Alumni) Show.
The Senior Send-off is an important part of PCA&D’s commencement celebration. At this student-only celebratory event, the Class of 2020 will receive their berets, a traditional symbol of the artist, to be worn at their Commencement ceremony. These berets were designed and made by Lancaster County’s own Bollman Hat Company, the oldest hat manufacturer in the United States.
In addition, the Class of 2020 will be welcomed into the ranks of the PCA&D alumni through a champagne toast with the President and pinning ceremony with the City of Lancaster, as well as PCA&D faculty, staff, and alumni.
Senior Show & Celebration
Artwork will fill multiple floors of the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design as the Class of 2020 exhibit professional-level senior thesis projects in a variety of media, the culminating work of PCA&D’s graduates. PCA&D’s annual celebration is the culmination of a day that begins with Commencement, when the BFA degree candidates in Fine Art, Photography, Graphic Design, Digital Media, and Illustration graduate.
Following a Family and Friends Preview, the College will open the Senior Show & Celebration to the public, who will be invited to meet the artists, view the artwork, and be able to purchase pieces.
