The College will offer two courses through the Center for Creative Exploration, two workshops through the College Library’s enrichment program, and 10 different credit courses that can be applied toward certificate programs, minors, or BFA degrees.

Center for Creative Exploration Courses

Open to the general public for a fee. Current students enrolled in the College’s BFA programs may enroll in one of the following courses and the fee will be waived.

Design Thinking Methodology

Design Thinking is what we do as artists every day for every project. It’s a way of thinking through problems or opportunities that taps into the human at the center. Students should come with open minds and a willingness to be comfortable with the unfamiliar and an openness to working with others.

Finding freelance work online is one of the most viable (and the most likely) ways for folks to earn money during an epidemic. This workshop will provide a rundown of essential tips for digging up gig work, spotting scams, advocating for yourself, and preparing for tax season along the way (rules for freelancers are unique and can easily catch people new to the market off guard).

Certificate Programs

Three new certificate programs can enrich a student’s professional profile by allowing them a broader range of employment opportunities in the creative economy. Certificates are typically shorter than minors–between 10 and 15 credit hours–and may also be pursued by students who are not currently enrolled full-time at PCA&D.

For current students, certificates may be more manageable to complete in 4 years because the programs are shorter and will be offered online. At graduation, BFA students will also receive a Certificate of Completion from their certificate program.

Students not enrolled in BFA programs will receive a Certificate of Completion after all courses have been successfully completed.

June 15 – July 10 and July 13 – Aug 7
Using cutting-edge, industry standard software and tools, students learn to conceptualize, develop, produce, and manage animation projects through a structured progression of courses with an emphasis on character-driven storytelling.
