Storm Vazquez is a mixed media artist living in South Central Pennsylvania. She is a BFA candidate from the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design (PCAD) who was awarded a president’s scholarship. She also displayed work in a senior art show at the Demuth Museum called Collectively Charged and in the LUX show called My Cup of Tea at PCAD. Her work focuses on grieving the loss of a pet, highlighting the death of her own cat, Luna. Through the use of soft sculpture such as crochet and felting, Vazquez creates art that represents the absence and memories of having a pet. The work also provides a visual and tactile connection that represents the experience of having a pet. Through painting and tapestry, she provides a visual representation of the cat she knew and loved. Vazquez also has an interest in art therapy and is
currently looking into graduate programs in psychology.
