2021 Competition

Each year a total of $25,000 in scholarship money is awarded through the College’s Portfolio Merit Scholarship Competition. Eight applicants are chosen by a panel of PCA&D faculty and admissions staff based on the artwork they submit. 

Scholarship awards

  • $8000: 1 award
  • $4000: 2 awards
  • $2000: 3 awards 
  • $1000: 2 awards

Each scholarship award to be divided evenly per semester for the first year of study.

who's eligible?

Prospective students who enter the competition AND:

  • Apply for the Fall 2021 semester and submit all PCA&D application materials by April 2nd, 2021.
  • Have already applied and submitted all PCA&D application materials for the Fall 2021 semester.
  • Have already been accepted or made their tuition deposit for the Fall 2021 semester as a new incoming student.

How to enter

Submit images here of your six best artworks to PCA&D SlideRoom by 11:59 PM on Friday, April 2nd, 2021. If you haven’t already, apply here to attend PCA&D for the Fall 2021 semester and submit all required admissions materials prior to the April 2nd deadline. If you’ve already submitted your portfolio as part of your admissions application, you will need to re-submit your six best artworks here in SlideRoom separately.

What should i include

Specific instructions for uploading your images are located in SlideRoom. You do not need to submit a particular kind of artwork to be considered. Just choose your six best artworks to enter. Our panel will be looking for strong portfolios that showcase creativity and technique in the six works entered.

Submissions will be juried by a panel of PCA&D faculty and admissions staff. All portfolio merit scholarship winners will be notified by April 7th, 2021.


PCA&D Accepted Student Day is Saturday, April 10th and our refundable Tuition Deposit deadline is May 1st. After May 1st, PCA&D will continue to accept applications for the Fall 2021 semester on a rolling basis.
