Portfolio Merit Scholarship

Each year upwards of $50,000 in scholarship money is awarded to new incoming students through the College’s Portfolio Merit Scholarship Competition.

Scholarship awards

Each scholarship award will be divided evenly per semester for the student’s first year of study. Awards will be granted by a panel of PCA&D faculty and admissions staff based on the artwork applicants submit.

  • $5,000: 1 first-time student award / 1 transfer award
  • $3,500: 2 first-time student awards / 2 transfer awards
  • $2,500: 4 first-time student awards / 2 transfer awards
  • $1,000: 6 first-time student awards / 4 transfer awards

who's eligible?

Interested students who enter the competition AND…

  • Apply for the Fall 2023 semester, submitting all PCA&D application materials by March 31.
  • Already applied and submitted all PCA&D application materials for the Fall 2023 semester.
  • Already been accepted or made their tuition deposit for the Fall 2023 semester as a new incoming student.

Current PCA&D students do not qualify for this competition.

How to enter

The submission deadline is 11:59 PM on Friday, March 31, 2023. Submit images of your 6 best artworks to PCA&D SlideRoom.

If you haven’t already, apply here to attend PCA&D for the Fall 2023 semester and submit all required admissions materials prior to the March 31st deadline.

If you’ve already submitted a portfolio as part of your admission application, you’ll need to submit your 6 best artworks in PCA&D SlideRoom separately.

What should i include

Specific instructions for uploading your images are located in SlideRoom. You do not need to submit a particular kind of artwork to be considered. Just choose your 6 best artworks to enter. Our panel will be looking for strong portfolios that showcase originality, creativity, and technique in the 6 works entered.

WINNER SELECTION & NOTIFICATION

Submissions will be juried by a panel of PCA&D faculty and admissions staff. All portfolio merit scholarship winners will be notified by April 6, 2023.

MORE ADMISSIONS INFORMATION

PCA&D’s first Accepted Student Day for Fall 2023 is Saturday, March 11 and our refundable Tuition Deposit deadline is May 1. After May 1, PCA&D will continue to accept applications for the Fall 2023 semester on a rolling basis.
