Inspired by anthropomorphic animals and her love for needlecraft, Bailee Etzweiler creates work which plays with her own identity and self expression. Bailee uses mixed media and costume-making to explore themes of self-expression, and the difference between her inner personality and her outward-facing persona. Bailee expresses herself outwardly by dressing in dark colors and adopting a goth aesthetic, but on the inside, she enjoys things such as bright colors and things that are soft and cute. She created two original characters to represent these two sides of herself, and created costumes of each character.
