Mickey Hess

Fine Art, BFA

I am an artist whose life changed following a car accident that affected my eyesight. This experience plunged me into a challenging time of blurred visions, forcing me to perceive the world in a new and intense way.

After surgery restored my sight, I emerged with a renewed passion for my craft. This journey deepened my exploration of the connections between nature, texture, movement, and color. I create evocative artworks inspired by the vibrant hues and organic forms found in nature. Each brushstroke becomes a vessel for expression, inviting viewers to reflect on the beauty of our surroundings. Grateful for my vision, I strongly desire to convey what I see and foster a dialogue between the viewer and the natural world.”

I am a non-traditional art student and former registered nurse, giving me a unique perspective on life and creativity. My family inspires me daily, and my four-legged studio helpers add joy to my artistic journey. Nature and its beautiful landscapes fuel my creativity. At the same time, my art serves as a medium to express my thoughts and emotions, bridging my experiences in healthcare and my passion for art.
