- Brittany Blair ’18, Digital Media, has started a new position at Psyop, working with the pipeline team to create new tools and workflow improvements.
- Paige Alana Bowermaster ’23, Graphic Design, has been promoted to Creative & Brand Senior Specialist at RKL LLP.
- Ophelia Chambliss, who was presented with an Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts by the College at the 2023 Commencement ceremony, was honored with the York Downtown Firsts “Cultural Catalyst” award last month. The award is in recognition of individuals who have contributed significantly to the cultural life of downtown York, Pennsylvania.
- The work of Xani Dean, a Center for Creative Exploration instructor, was featured on the poster for the 2025 Lancaster Print Crawl on Sept. 5. Participants in the interactive event created Dean’s design by stopping by pop-up print stations around Lancaster City, each of which provided part of the overall poster via screen printing, letterpress, stamping, laser cutting riso, 3D printing and vinyl sticker graphics.
- Mickey Hess ’25, Fine Art, was one of a dozen Emerging Artists chosen to show and sell their work as part of the Long’s Park Art Festival 2025, held over Labor Day weekend. This nationally rated festival featured 200 juried artists, and is consistently named one of the best arts and crafts festivals in the nation.
- Alexis Lebesco ’21, Illustration, has been promoted to Senior Project Manager at FASTSIGNS.
- Work by Abigail Rae Lowe ’17, Illustration, was used for the pitch deck of a new Megamind Rules series that now is streaming on Peacock.
- A Common Thread, an exhibition featuring the work of eight PCA&D alumni and curated by Kayla Smith ’24, Fine Art, opened last month and runs through Dec. 17 at Chesapeake Gallery, Harford Community College, Maryland. An opening reception will be held Sept. 11 from 6-7:30 pm. Artists exhibiting in A Common Thread include Hannah Aust ’24, Photography & Video; Krista Canoles ’25, Fine Art; Ceanna Davis ’24, Fine Art; Alivia Haltom ’24, Fine Art; Kayla Smith; Sherrie Snyder ’24, Fine Art; Kelby Weaver ’24, Illustration; and Nicole Wesoloski ’24, Fine Art.
A Common Thread brings together eight emerging artists whose creative paths, while varied in medium and intent, intersect at a pivotal threshold. The artists work across disciplines: painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. - Photographs by Sam Yesko ’26, Photography & Video, have been selected as some of the top 15 photos for the 20/20 Photo Festival Black & White Tote Bag Competition in Philadelphia this month.
