Artists in grades 1-12 – Join artist Laurence Jacoby at the Pearl Cafe from 6 – 7:30 pm to learn how to make mini-zines and create artwork to enter into the RegenAll Youth Climate Art Exhibition that answers the prompt: “WHAT DOES MY GREEN FUTURE LOOK LIKE?

  • Instructor: Illustrator and PCA&D Graduate Laurence Jacoby
  • Tuesday, October 27
  • 6 – 7:30 PM
  • Description: This drop in workshop will cover how to make an 8-page mini-zine and its many uses. The main goal of this class is to understand what goes into making a mini-zine and how they can be used as a tool for communicating ideas and opinions through art. In addition to mini-zine production, students will learn mixed-media techniques; they will first brainstorm ideas for their zines and create a hard copy by collaging from recycled magazines and hand-drawn illustrations. Then, once they are done with their hard copy, they will learn how to copy and fold their zines.
