Emily Steinberg is a visual artist and graphic memoirist whose work bridges painting and autobiographical narrative.
Trained at the University of Pennsylvania (MFA, BFA, and BA), her practice explores memory, illness, identity, and the emotional textures of everyday life through both traditional and comic-based forms.
Her paintings and narrative works have been widely exhibited in solo and group exhibitions across the United States and internationally. Her visual narratives have appeared in major publications including The New Yorker.
Steinberg’s visual narrative work is closely associated with the field of graphic medicine, contributing to award-winning projects including Menopause: A Comic Treatment, which received an Eisner Award. She lives just outside Philadelphia.
