Kate White

Kate White is a writer and artist with 15+ years of experience leading communications across higher education and nonprofit organizations. Her creative work includes publications in creative nonfiction and poetry, ghostwriting and book editing, interviews exploring identity and the writing process, and an award-winning play produced for the Pittsburgh Fringe Festival (Spirit of Fringe Award).
Kate previously taught foundation writing and creative nonfiction at the University of Memphis and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Write Pittsburgh. Alongside her communications work, she teaches art workshops in the Pittsburgh area and is developing a mixed-media painting series and a poetry chapbook centered on shifting identity and what remains after loss. Kate holds master’s degrees in Creative Writing and Women’s and Gender Studies from the University of Memphis. She shares her home with Gus McPiratePants, her one-eyed cat and self-appointed supervisor.
