Yuanyuan Zhou

I am Yuanyuan Zhou, an accountant-turned illustrator with a MFA in Illustration Practice (ILP) from MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art). For professional work, I studied and worked as an accountant and switched to be an illustrator in order to spread information in a visually appealing way. I conceptualize ideas and draw very fast, and that led me to the world of editorial illustration. I make title illustrations, spot /portrait illustrations and GIFs. I had some professional experience working with newspapers and magazines for editorial illustrations, such as The Guardian, Full Bleed Magazine, Womanly and more.

My work has also been recognized by American Illustration (AIAP), 3×3, ADC Young One, and Colossal Magazine. My works are always full of energy and quirkiness and always include a comical side. I love using bright colors and stylized characters to show care and love about life and livelihood topics.
