Eight Pennsylvania College of Art & Design faculty and staff members have been selected to exhibit work in the annual Demuth Invitational. Demuth Invitational: Portraiture Through Artists’ Eyes opens April 29 and runs through June 25 at the Demuth Museum, 120 E. King St., Lancaster.

Like many artists, Lancaster native Charles Demuth explored portraiture. His subjects ranged widely from friends and family to fictional characters in literary illustrations, according to the Demuth Foundation, and his style “included representational works and his pioneering poster portraits conveying likenesses in an abstract concept.”

PCA&D faculty and staff whose work will be on display include Salina Almanzar (Program Coordinator, Center for Creative Exploration), Becky Blosser (Chair, Fine Art), Evan Kitson (Adjunct, Fine Art), Bill Mammarella (Chair, Foundation), Osmyn Oree (Admissions), Justin Phillips (Assistant Dean, Academic Affairs), Aaron Thompson (Assistant Professor, Fine Art/Foundation), and Eric Weeks (Chair, Photography & Video).
