PCA&D announces new Board of Trustees leadership

Russell D. Urban was elected Chair of the Board of Trustees of Pennsylvania College of Art & Design at the Board’s July meeting. He replaces Audry K. Carter, who will serve as Past Chair. Urban has served as Vice Chair of the Board for the past three years. James Warner has been elected to serve as Vice Chair of the Board.

Urban, CEO and Principal at Electra America Hospitality Group, is the former president of High Hotels. Warner is the president of Practical Waste Solutions after retiring after 22 years as the CEO of the Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority. 

In addition, three new members have been elected to serve on the College’s Board of Trustees. New board members include:

  • Isaiah Servance Jr., Lancaster. Servance is devoted to community development and has served on the boards of Community Action Partnership / Crispus Attucks Community Center, the Organizational Change and Development Company, the Lancaster chapter of The National Urban League, and the Lancaster Area Victim Offender Reconciliation Program. A Director of Wealth Management Compliance at Morgan Stanley, he is an operational governance and risk management professional. His expertise and leadership extend to IT systems support and data migration, product and project management and training, and business resiliency and continuity planning. Servance received his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Elizabethtown College.
  • Jolene Tolbert, York. Tolbert is a philanthropic leader and champion of the arts committed to education and the transformative power of the arts in communities. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Theater, as well as a master’s of Foreign Language Education in French, all from the University of Georgia. She lives in York City, where she is active in the York Womens’ Giving Circle (Chair of Membership and Thriving Communities), Parliament Arts Organization (Vice Chair of Board), and the Appell Center for Performing Arts (Board member), and is a member of the York Symphony Orchestra Chorus.
  • Pam Barby of Lititz. Chair of the Graphic Design department of the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design. Barby has been a distinguished member of the faculty since 2005. She created and leads the College’s annual Designathon signature giving event and served as the Interim Dean of Academic Affairs during the 2018-19 academic year. She is serving as the Faculty Trustee to the PCA&D Board.
