Mary Colleen Heil, PCA&D President and Pam Richardson, Dean of Students

On May 2, forty graduating seniors participated in PCA&D’s Commencement at Barshinger Hall, on Franklin & Marshall College campus. PCA&D President Mary Colleen Heil encouraged the students as they leave PCA&D to begin their life in art, She said, “My observations over the years is that yours is a class of thoughtful, hard-working, committed artists, designers and entrepreneurs who also know how to collaborate, support each other and have fun.”

Featured speaker Dean of students Pamela Richardson, who will retire this year after 25 years with the college, told the students, “You were probably too stressed out most of the time to have noticed these things building up in you, but I did. Every year I could see it becoming stronger and stronger, and I couldn’t be happier for you.”

A video commemorating Dean Richardson’s time at PCA&D, was shown and brought tears to the eyes of students and faculty.

After the video, two alumnae, Katharine Kelly, ’14, and Joanna Hornstien Hulse, ’12, shared advice given by Dean Richardson during 25 years at the college.
