Thursday, October 15th, 2020

PCA&D’s Class of 2020 has been groundbreaking in many ways, with members testing their resilience to finish their college degrees mid-pandemic.

Add another first — PCA&D’s first online art auction — to their list.

PCA&D Presents, an auction featuring the work of Class of 2020 members, will be held Friday, Oct. 23, beginning at 7:30 pm and lasting until all items have been offered for sale. Dozens of pieces will go on the auction block representing the work of our most recent alumni in Animation & Game Art, Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, and Photography & Video.

Attend in your most luxe party wear and get your picture taken in the event’s virtual photo booth, or relax in your most eccentric loungewear: It’s an auction that perfectly fits your style either way. 100% of all artwork sales goes to the artists.

PCA&D traditionally hosts a Senior Show & Celebration during Commencement Weekend each spring. The hugely popular event typically brings more than 2,000 visitors onto campus and is a great opportunity for the new graduates to sell their work to collectors.

As the coronavirus has forced every college to reassess, reschedule, and reimagine, PCA&D is no different.

Since Pennsylvania regulations make an in-person show and celebration impossible, even eight months after the pandemic arrived, the College is looking forward to PCA&D Presents as another way to celebrate the Class of 2020 and their work.

“We are thrilled to venture into this new virtual territory that the art world has needed to face as our new reality since March of this year,” says Alana Coates, Director of Exhibitions at PCA&D. “This is a wonderful opportunity to involve the community of Lancaster and beyond at a time that our doors are closed to the public per health and safety regulations. We want to host a fun and art-filled event that everyone can enjoy safely.”

PCA&D Presents, shared as a gathering on the Zoom platform, will be emceed by Todd Snovel, the College’s Director of Development and Strategic Initiatives.

Earlier this month, PCA&D also launched a new Alumni Archive to showcase the Class of 2020 artworks that would have been on display last May. That archive will begin to serve as a permanent record for College alumni moving forward.

PCA&D Presents participating artists: Justin Carney, Parker Ciampaglia, Alex Conn, Ashley Crist, Sage Aries Dougherty, Jarrett Dreese, Fiona Duckworth, Lauren Rose Duffy, Karim Gavins, Noël Fry, Hannah High, Sarah Kelly, Adam Leitzel, Carolyn Loftus, Olivia Montalvo, Anthony Nardo, Lanna Peck, Truman Sappey, Em Sohn, Rainey Supple, Fionna Tram, Cindy Tran, Quinn Waltman, Amanda Weir, Nikkole Weisman, and Jeff Yosco.
