Three PCA&D students chosen for YorkArts exhibition
Wednesday, February 4th, 2015
Three Pennsylvania College of Art &Design students were among the nine top undergraduate art students selected for inclusion in the “Emerging Visions” exhibition at the YorkArts Gallery. Chosen from submissions from undergraduate art students, were photography major David Billet, York, and PCA&D fine art majors Jen Godfrey, Lancaster, and Samantha Sanders, Grantville. Congratulations.
An opening reception and awards ceremony for “Emerging Visions” will be held on Thursday, February 5th from 6pm to 8pm at the YorkArts Gallery, 10 North Beaver Street, York, PA 17401, where attendees are invited to view original bodies of work by nine undergraduate artists. These small collections, ranging in media and subject matter, highlight each young artist’s development towards a distinct and personal style. Godfrey’s work was also featured on the exhibition announcement.
During the opening reception a juror will select one Best of Show, winning $200, and up to three Awards of Distinction to be presented during the opening reception. Join us in celebrating the hard work and creativity of these nine talented undergraduate artists as they pursue a degree in Art. The exhibition and reception are free to attend and open to the public. Emerging Visions will be on display February 5 to March 21, 2015 at the YorkArts Gallery.
Artists currently enrolled in an undergraduate program were eligible to submit 5-8 pieces of art for consideration. In addition to the three PCA&D students, students were also selected from York College of Pennsylvania, Lehigh University, Maryland Institute College of Art, Towson University, Temple University and Parsons the New School for Design. PCA&D was the only college with more than one artist selected by the exhibit’s jurors.
