May accomplishments in our PCA&D community

Greetings from the Mirage, a public art installation by Matty Geez ’14, Illustration, has opened at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. The installation, through June 18, features more than a dozen of Geez’s towering soft sculptures. “My work is inherently soft and inviting with its use of color and material, but the sharpness through pricks makes it guarded and protected,” Geez told LNP/LancasterOnline. “Those ideas bleed into queer society as we search for space to be comfortable in a generally heteronormative world.” He recently wrapped up an artist residency at PCA&D-York. You can see more of his work on Instagram at @AnOrdinaryDaze.
A mural by Justin Jones’07 was created on West Orange Street in downtown Lancaster as part of the Keys for the City public art project. You can check it out here.
Work by Kelby Weaver ’24, Illustration, has been selected for the 2nd-quarter show in The Gallery at Rock Lititz, a live-event production community in Lancaster County. Weaver works in many different types of media, and especially enjoys oils. Works by Weaver in the Rock Lititz display include both still lifes and landscapes. The Gallery at Rock Lititz is located in Pod 2, 201 Rock Lititz Blvd., Lititz, and is open to the public Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Weaver’s work is on display through June 30.
