In my thesis project, I set out to create a body of work that showed a lot of versatility and cohesion by designing a new set of book jackets for a series of 6 books, as well as interior spreads for each of the 6 parts of book 1. I work both traditionally and digitally, blending the two mediums in my landscapes by drawing a piece fully in pencil and then adding value and sometimes color digitally. For this project specifically I also painted assets digitally and created foils for the hardback bindings of each of the books to be seen when the jackets are removed.
These next few months are going to be pretty eventful for me. I am in the process of being
accepted to spend a year as a resident teaching artist in Sitka, Alaska as part of The Artist Year through AmeriCorps. I have also been accepted to participate in a one week residency in Wisconsin that I will attend as a pit stop on my way up to Alaska.
